How to Test

Bayer’s CONTOUR® USB meter features simple, smooth testing with Bayer’s CONTOUR® test strips and the MICROLET®2 lancing device.

BEFORE YOU TEST, have these and other testing materials ready. You may also need Bayer’s CONTOUR® control solution to run a quality control check. Then you’ll be ready to test.

2. Insert Test Strip/Obtain a Drop of Blood
  • Remove a CONTOUR® test strip from the bottle. Tightly close the bottle lid immediately after you have removed the test strip.
  • Hold the test strip with the grey end facing up.
  • Insert the grey end into the test strip port on Bayer’s CONTOUR® USB meter. The CONTOUR® USB meter will turn on. Wait for the Apply Blood screen. The CONTOUR® USB meter is now ready to test a blood drop.
  • Drop your arm to your side and shake it gently to get the blood flowing to your fingertips.
  • Place the MICROLET®2 lancing device firmly against the puncture site and press the blue release button to obtain a drop of blood*. See your MICROLET®2 package insert for more details.

Download the User Guide for more detailed testing information.

*NOTE: MICROLET®2 is designed for use by a single patient only. To reduce the risk of infection, use a new
MICROLET®2 lancet each time you test and do not share lancets.
